In Sri Lankan culture, especially in the hill country and Kandyan traditions, she is revered as a guardian of temples and communities, embodying the spiritual presence of ancestral power and divine motherhood. This is a replica of an 18th-century artwork from the Dambulla cave temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla - a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka.
