In Sri Lanka, it is a prominent feature in temple architecture, representing the guardianship of the Buddha’s teachings and the spiritual passage from the earthly realm to the divine. This is a replica of an artwork from the Dambulla cave temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla - a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka.
